Indonesia faces increasingly urgent geopolitical challenges due to the shift in the global order toward a multipolar system, intensifying technological competition, and the threat of a climate crisis that impacts national stability. These conditions require the strengthening of national resilience, focusing on military defense while also encompassing technological self-reliance, energy security, economic resilience, and environmental sustainability. This study aims to analyze the interaction between global geopolitical dynamics and the strengthening of Indonesia’s national resilience in addressing 21st-century challenges. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review, analyzing various academic sources, policy documents, and strategic data related to geopolitics, technology, energy, and climate change. The research findings indicate that strengthening national resilience must be undertaken holistically through a reinterpretation of the Astagatra concept in the context of non-traditional threats. Indonesia needs to develop adaptive and free-active foreign policies, strengthen resource-based economic diplomacy, enhance digital self-reliance, and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. Additionally, strengthening maritime and ecological resilience is a critical factor in maintaining national stability. This study concludes that Indonesia’s success in navigating the multipolar era depends heavily on the state’s ability to balance global openness with the development of national self-reliance. The implications of this research underscore the importance of an integrated national strategy to realize Indonesia as a resilient, sovereign, and sustainable Global Maritime Fulcrum.
